After all the criticism the new Underbelly is getting on TV and Radio (about just being a tits and ass fest with no actual storyline), when I turned on the TV and saw this scene I just laughed. They needed a scene where they had to discuss how they could bring more drugs in at a time, so they thought "I know, let's say he was doing a nude sketch of her while they were talking!" Personally I'm very supportive of their choice, but it was still amusing

Had to laugh at Petra Starke's column in the tellybox book yesterday.

Underbelly features people selling drugs, using drugs, people being shot, stabbed, butchered mutilated, swearing, voilence, etc. & what did she bang on about being offended by for a whole page? Yup, being able to see peoples nipples. I wonder if she still where a dress from neck-to-ankle, a scarf, gloves & bloomers & carries a parasol when she goes to the beach? Where do people obtain such a perverse arse-up sense of morality & how & why do they land jobs where they get to preach them publicly?

Everybody knows that nipples are far more evil than drugs & murder...

Shit! I've got nipples! Does that mean I'm breaking the law? My neighbour has a bitch that has six nipples & it doesn't even cover them! What is the world coming to when people like that are allowed to live in your own neighbourhood?

A little fyi at the end of Underbelly tonight advertisement for dvd "uncut" - with extra scenes "too hot" for tv, hope some of them are starring Anna Hutchinson .. may 27th release date...

Hey does anybody know who that girl was in the gambling club with the lawyer? See was in the blue dress, character was called Melanie. She was cute. Nine doesn't show the end credits, is there anywhere you can look them up. Cheers.

...Does anyone know if the nude scenes are extended or if there are more of them in the uncut version of Underbelly season 1?

The courier mail website reports that the Underbelly Uncut DVD set includes scenes not seen on TV due to legal reasons.

I am assuming what is now being shown on 9 is the equivalent of the DVD set.

Would any nude/sex scenes have not been shown (or edited) in the original series due to legal reasons

probably too raunchy for the rating...........if showed the censors probably would have wanted an R rating on the show.

Thanks Dv8. It starts tonight over here in NZ and will be proceeded by a 60 Minutes story about the real Underbelly characters including an interview with the policewoman who also was a stripper.
