We are just about to upgrade this forum from version 2.0.6 to the latest - 2.0.10, downtime should be no longer than one hour.

Yeah
Hopefully everything is getting back to normal in this forum, the upgrade was nasty with quite a few teething problems. We only do the upgrades for security hole fixing purposes in the first place. Bugs and exploits are constantly found in PhpBB which when the authors are notified about they try to fix with a version upgrade. They also upgrade versions just to hopefully make life easier and more enjoyable for forum members with new features and refined code, unfortunately sometimes in doing this they sometimes inadvertantly introduce a new error to the script. Such is life, we will continue to upgrade this forum and keep our members using the most current up to date scripts available.

Re: Forum : upgrade
the 'new post' icon is not an improvement. It doesn't stand out like the old one. When your scrolling down the main index you want to be able to spot new posts easily. Or maybe use that unecessary yellow bar that highlights posts when ya cursor is over it, as the new post indicator.

It'll probably just take a little time to get used to it. Anything new can be a big disorientating at first.
I thought I was on the wrong place at first. My goodness! Somebody's certainly been busy.

The difference between ignorance and apathy? I don't know, and I couldn't care less.

Thanks for the suggestion hippyd. That's a simple cosmetic fix, we are still using the phpbb default icons which we haven't had a chance to change yet. Anyway I'll make sure the new post icon is something that stands out more

Re: Forum : upgrade
I'd like to suggest adding a "Thanks" button, where you can just click the button in the post to add your thanks. It adds your name to a list at the bottom of that post, showing the OP that you appreciate their efforts.
This also helps avoid thread clutter - instead of having 12 pages of posts saying "Thanks mate", it will show a list of people who just wanted to say "Thanks" on the first post, and the rest of the replies are people who want to say a bit more than just "thanks" or ask a question.

It's a nice upgrade,everything is very clear.
I can't really seem to see the "new post" icon though.I also like xlr8's suggestion about the "thanks" button too.

Time seems to be a bit out of whack. Looks and performs well otherwise.
