Hey guys,

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up (incase you haven't seen it yet) and ask if anyone knows anything about this new show on ch9, sat night, 1-4am...

I get home from sexpo, switch on the TV and am presented with some of the sexiest hosts I've ever seen... it looks as though they've copied the uplate show on ch 10 - only it's muuuuuch better to watch since the girls are * stunning!!!

First off, does anyone know anything about the show (when it started, the hosts names, etc) and secondly, please tell me someone ATLEAST is capping this show if not recording it... the red head is especially fuckin gorgeous!!!

I can't believe I haven't heard about this before???

QuizMania started just last week.
It's a UK concept based on BB Uplate with all the BB parts removed (which makes the show quite tedious to watch).

Considering it's been done before (HotDog's Uplate Game Show, anyone?), it's surprising that 9 purchased rights to the format from overseas.

QM is hosted by Nikki Osborne, Amy Parks and Brodie Young.
..Hold on - Brodie Young, a BB season 2 intruder?

Shame on you Channel 9.

...and the show runs for 12 hours each week (3 hours x 4 days), that's a lot to cap for an almost unbearable show

yeh started to record it last night and they had that brodie guy on for flippin ages so i just stopped...will clear up some hdd space and cap a whole show maybe...see what i can come up with....
Looks like the show's schedule for this week (Brisbane) is:-

Tuesday

12:00am - 3:00am

Wednesday

12:00am - 3:00am

Thursday

12:00am - 3:00am

Sunday

12:20am - 4:00am

The reason the game's far worse even than Hotdogs' atrocity is the game format. Its signature 'tower' puzzle is basically the hosts playing 'Guess what's in my head'. "Nothing" is pretty clearly the correct answer, judging by the inaneness of their patter, so it's probably more accurately termed 'Guess what's in the producer's head'. In other words, the game is so pointlessly arbitrary that it can be strung out for literally hours. And so it was – over two and a half of the show's agonisingly bad introductory effort on Monday night...

...The most outrageous aspect of the show, though, is not the insanely hard and random nature of the quiz. Or the way that they end up having to make the questions stupidly easy. It's that they almost never take calls. The show is on such a painfully tight budget that they spend the entire time telling you to call, and almost never actually talk to anyone lest whey win. There were entire 15-minute periods of padding, including one highly awkward bit of banter between perky host Nikki Osborne (to be fair, the least worst thing about the show, probably because she's not from BB) and a cameraman. She established that this grey-haired gentleman likes going out for "a bit of a boogie" on Oxford St. Hilarious....

...The patter's particularly awful. Nikki Osbourne (to be fair, the least awful thing about the show, since she's not from BB) likes to tell lame jokes. Such as "One cow said to the other "Are you worried about mad cow disease?" She said "No I'm not, I'm a helicopter"." I guess it's to make you wish they were playing the stupid competitions instead. But Nikki's miles better than Amy Parks, who spent an entire hour on variations of two sentences: "Give us a call, we're going to take heaps of calls", and "Wouldn't it be awesome if you won? How awesome would that be? $50! Awesome! What could you do with that". All of which are broken up by what must be television's worst sound effects. The "B-b-b-bonus" sound in particular is still haunting my nightmares like ghostly quiz-host fingernails on a crappy television-effect blackboard...

Oh well to be honest, I'm just glad there's some aussie eye candy on that time of the night... if I see one more * ad or Anthony Robbins infomercial I'm gonna * scream!!!

I don't understand, why can't they just put something interesting on at that time of the morning??? Something for us insomniacs, like stand up comedy or Wild on E or something even half informative or entertaining...

No, we get * old B-grade US celebs bullshitting on about makeup and pimple cream till the early hours of the morning!!

So yeah, although Quizmania is apprently shit, I give em credit for giving it a go... anything's better then the alternatives...(especially when you got two hot babes like that - Nikki and Amy).

I mean this isn't shakespeare... it's late night television... that time of the night you need babes, music, and some fun... so I say give em a few week (if they last that long) to tweak the show...

I mean do you remember how diffferent and shitty hotdogs show was when he first started? It was completly different - it usually takes a few weeks to iron out the kinks... I just hope they get the hint and we eventually get to see a lot more skin from the girls... maybe some mud wrestling between Amy and Nikki, or some hot girl on girl action hehehe... yeah right!!

It would be great if it was on during infomercials but it's not... they're in the timeslot they used for cool aussie drama (even if they were repeats) like stingers, water rats, last man standing (I think), young lions etc... you'll soon be sick of that money hungry crap

I gotta say, for anyone who's a regular watcher of QM - am I the only one who can’t stand Katrina?!? If you notice I haven't recorded ANY of her stuff, and I won't either.

While Nikki, Amy, and Suze are absolutely gorgeous, there’s just something about that Katrina I can’t stand!!!! Man I’d rather listen to Brodie rattle on for a few hours then watch her for a single minute!!! It’s like watching your bestfriend’s Mom flirt on camera or something!?!? (which is just weird?) lol.

First off she looks as though she's in her mid to late forties, and then there’s that whole fake smile, fake denture teeth, and that annoying hair style of hers?!?! And FFS, if I see her carry one and do that pretend drum role thing one more time I’m gonna peck a remote control at the TV!!! When you look at the other girls you can clearly see why they were all chosen to compare, but with her - WTF happened?!?!

You cannot tell me that in this entire country full of models, actresses, up-n-comers and wannabe’s, she was the best they could find?!?! It totally baffles me, and there’s gotta be a reason why they decided to go with her?!?!

I honestly don't get the logic of this... incase you haven't heard, it's Nikki Osborne's last show tonight (right now) as she's apparently going to pursue other ventures - which from what I understand is a new show called "The Nation" on channel 9.

NOw how the hell does this make sense - she's gotta know that its most probably gonna flop (I mean lets be honest here) and then sayonara, say goodbye to Nikki AGAIN!!! She'll end up being like one of those broads you see pop up every other year whenever a shit show or concept pops up for five minutes and then gets cancelled. What a shame!

Now I'm not saying she should stay as a QM chic for the rest of her life, but FFS, they just stood and won their ground against ch10 and ch7 a few months ago, sweeping the ratings and competing with two exact shows at the exact time, and IMHO I was waiting to see the best of the show start to come out - apart from the fact they hired a frickin' granny, (katrina) who I can't f***ing stand - I was hoping that someone in their wisdom would piss her off and bring on a hotter [younger] babe!!!

But nooooo - arguably the hottest, funniest, and most entertaining girl on the show and the reason MOST people watch the show decides to pack it in and leave?!?! I mean I can understand if she's a little sick of it, so take a hoilday... but FFS, to leave all together!!! Honestly, unless they get some super hottie who is as, or more entertaining than Nikki on the show, I can see it going down hill from here!!! With the whole BB letting us down this year and now this, I'm so bummed out right now. What the hell is wrong with everyone?!?!?

hahaha, just tuned into QM for once and hear Suze announce that tonight IS their very last show!!! Jez, I had a sneaking suspicion that the show would go to shit once Nikki left, but I didn't expect it to happen so quicky...

If it is true (and they won't be coming back later in the year or at another time) just goes to show you the "pull" Nikki Osbourne had. So either she was very lucky to jump ship, or she knew something the others didn't.

Either way, I think it's a shame seeing as I can't see that 'Nation' crap lasting more than another month or so as well. So in that case say goodbye to Nikki as well. Gawd damn it - I guess there goes the countries fascination with late night game shows and babes/hosts for now...

So, here's to you girls - cheers - and thanks for the good times...

I dunno man, despite the same time slot its like comparing chalk and cheese. Personally, I can't stand this new show, and I'm still trying to figure out why on gods green earth channel 9 they would take QM off the air, (especially after it won the battle over the other versions on 7 and 10) only to replace it with an even shit format, and hosts.

IMHO, it will never be as good or as funny as it was with Nikki and Amy. Sometimes you really gotta wonder what these people [execs] are thinking - they have absolutely no idea what they're doing - and I know this cause its almost 2008, yet we're still stuck with informercials at that time of the night.

I mean get with it. Atleast give us insomniacs something to watch like the history channel, biography, or stand up. Anything is better then listening to some tool rattle on about f***ing space bags or some shit! lol.

hahaha, yeah but I got a feeling Mick Molloy would have thrown a shot or two at Nikki - seeing as he scored her a gig on his last show - if only for a few weeks. As for Amy, she can swing by my place anytime she likes - I'm sure I can find something for her to do...
