Sorry not sure what the problem might be.

Personally I don't use windows media player. I use either VLC player or Media Player Classic. Both are easy to install (and free). I don't have the direct links but should be easy to find via google. Hope that helps.

I agree, Windows media player probably isn't the best choice. If you still want to continue using WMP then i suggest you try downloading a codec for .avi's, updating WMP or uninstalling and reinstalling

To play just about any video in the player of your choice install:

- Combined Community Codec Pack or Vista Codec Pack
- Quicktime Alternative or QT Lite
- Quicktime Alternative iTunes Compatability Addon
- Real Alternative or Real Alternative Lite

Quicktime Alternative and Real Alternative both include Media Player Classic. If you don't want MPC, get the Lite versions.

Remove every codec you have installed
and then installing wmp11
then k-lite codec package(playback)
and then you shouldn't have a problem but then if you still do media player classic will be installed also.

I had DivX, then I tried the K-Lite Codec Pack & found that some online video sites were static, "jerky" & the audio & video were always out of sync. I removed K-Lite Codec Pack & reinstalled DivX which is better but only marginally so it looks like online video sites are my challenge. :)
The difference between ignorance and apathy? I don't know, and I couldn't care less.
