Joining AVI Files together
I have, in the past, had alot of trouble joining avi files flawlessly together....
Program: VirtualDub-MPEG2 (the program Dv8 recommended http://www.aussiesexposed.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1060)
But there are other programs out there....it is just that most of them you have to pay for.
Before you can join the files together, they must have the same properties...ie. video frame rate, video/audio codec, audio bitrate and resolution
Step1: Start by opening the avi file that you want at the beginning of the compilation (File -> Open video file...)
Step2: Then go to Video -> Direct stream copy
Step3: Then go to Audio -> Direct stream copy
Step4: File -> Append AVI segment... and open the second avi file that you want..
Repeat step 4 as many times as you need, only limited by the number of files that you want in the compilation...
Step5: You can either File -> Save as AVI... this will just add the file sizes up (5MB + 6MB = 11MB) or you can go to Video -> Full processing mode (and do the same with audio) and you can compress the file again, change settings etc...Dv8's post (link at the top) will tell you how to change the video's properties.
I hope that this is as helpful to you as it was for me
