Download connection problem
I get a message "The connection to the server has been reset" and I have to wait 4 minutes before attempting to dowload again.

I thought this problem might have just been me.
Does it only happen to you guys when the video is relatively new on AE?

Re: Download connection problem
Been happening for while but only sporadically, very frustrating when you have downloaded 80% of a file and get the error message.

Re: Download connection problem
what usually happens to me is i download a vid and it pauses a few seconds in and wont continue...then i cancel it and try again but it says I am still downloading so i have to wait
Dunno what the deal is with these pausing/stopping downloads but it happens daily.

Re: Download connection problem
Yeah, same thing happens to me hippyd.
1. I click on a clip I either have or haven't downloaded before.
2. Press save or whatever when the popup box comes up.
3. The download will start off fine, but then it just stalls (usually a couple of seconds in) and still acts like its downloading but isn't infact doing anything. So, for example, I'm downloading at 500kb/s, it will go 400kb/s, 350kb/s, etc until, I guess, it hits 0kb/s.
4. I click cancel.
5. Then I have to wait to attempt to download it again because AE thinks I'm still downloading when I've clicked cancel.
Anyway, the problem is all at number 3 and number 5 isn't really an issue if number 3 didn't happen.
Is this what's happening to everyone else?

Re: Download connection problem
We changed a few server settings about a week or two ago which might have caused this problem so we changed them back to defaults this morning. Hopefully that fixes it but please do let me know if it continues to happen.

Re: Download connection problem
...i'm starting to think you just have a bad connection or maybe even a browser problem because I downloaded that file now just to test it and it didn't stop at all... what are you using? maybe try an alternative browser
I've never had that problem with downloading, ever, but I do get that connection problem sometimes when I upload... and it get's a bit annoying because I lose all the post info I filled in. I noticed it happen now and again ever since the implementation of the progress upload bar... maybe that or something related to it is freaking things out? BluNT?

True Dv8. All my downloads rocket along as normal from this site. Always complete first time and always come down very fast. Using Firefox 3.0.11. Guess I'm just lucky?

Re: Download connection problem
If you are using a wireless connection & it's bouncing between 3G & HSDPA, this will cause this type of problem, because the ip is not static between the 2 causing the item downloading to think connection has been paused or cut.

Re: Download connection problem
i've never had that problem here... does the download fail after a certain time? You know you might just have a crap physical connection and/or ISP, don't rule that out.

I was downloading a bunch of other things at the same time so that might be a reason

Re: Download connection problem
I still have problems too.
I find that it's only a problem when the downloads are fresh to the site (so if I'm within the first 30 or so downloaders).

I'm not trying to attack you or have a go at anyone, just simply stating what problems I'm experiencing.

Re: Download connection problem
who said you were trying to attack anyone? ...anyway if you're having download problems chances are it's something to do with your own connection, nothing to do with this site. Talk to your ISP...

Re: Download connection problem
We've just completed a bunch of server tweaking which has made this sites pages load noticeably faster. Gzip compression wasn't enabled and now that it is the pages served here are anywhere between 60% and 90% smaller/quicker for visitors to download. A few other major improvements were made that I totally forgot to do on this new server
Hopefully one of them has solved the download problem that hippyd, thephantom and hellopeople111 experienced. If the problems do continue please let me know.

Download Problem
Hi all,
I keep getting an error message similar to the following example when downloading a file.
"Unknown-Underbelly-TGM-E07-Dv8.avi.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read."
Ii only occurs after I have downloaded 1 file and then want to download a second one (the first file has finished downloading so I am not trying to download the second one at the same time). If I then try to download the file again I get the message that I can't download two files at the same time even though no files are actually downloading!
Anyone else having this problem?
I am using Firefox 3.6.3
This has been occurring for a week or so now.
Cheers
Gibbo
