I can't view any of my videos.

I can't watch any of the videos I download of Nicky Whelan of when she's on Neighbours, can anyone help me out? :( I've downloaded a couple of Delta, and I can watch them perfectly fine on Windows Media, but when I want to watch the Neighbours videos of Nicky, they don't work and I have no idea why.

Some of the videos I can watch in Power DVD, which just randomly pops up when I open up the video.

But when ever I try to watch the videos of Nicky I've downloaded, they never work properly, it always comes up with the sound of the video and not the actual video itself. :(

So can someone please help me? Any help will be much appreciated.

xx

Did you bother reading the stickiies at the top of the page? It sounds like a codec issue to me. Try this thread http://www.aussiesexposed.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=63

You did the right thing in a way, by posting where the admin told you to, you just need to look a bit closer is all. Enjoy the vids bad_angel_109, when you get them working that is  .

Have you installed all popular codecs or a codec pack?

If yes then open the video you are having trouble with in G-Spot and see if it says the codecs you need are in fact installed...

If they are picked up by G-Spot as being installed then try a different media player...

If that doesn't work try the config in your media player and change the video renderer. For example, right click on BSplayer, go to "Options" then "Preferences". Now press "Video" in the left menu and then the "Video Rendering" tab on the right. Try the different options in the "Rendering mode" dropdown list... This also helps if you get a black screen on your telly when you try to 'TV out' a clip (video card in clone mode)...

Still no luck? Uninstall your codecs or codec pack, reboot and try again...

Thanks for your help everyone, really appreciate. I've dowloaded BS Player 12.2, so hopefully I can watch the vids properly now. Strange how I downloaded a Delta clip and its the same type of file and everything and it works in Windows Media, yet when I want to watch the clips from Neighbours it doesn't work. :?

EDIT: I've downloaded BS Player and it still doesn't work. :( Says something about WhenU Save, which I've downloaded multiply times, just incase it didn't work before, but still no luck!

Can someone please help me? Its frustrating me a lot.

BS Player still relies on decoders installed on your system, so it is unlikely to play files that you can't already view.

Try VLC player (http://www.videolan.org) - it will play absolutely anything you throw at it using it's own built-in decoders, so your system setup should not affect playback.

As a longer term solution for Window Media Player, I suggest installing Advanced Vista Codec Package. It directs almost all video through the excellent FFDshow decoder which supports most video types. (http://shark.blackteabag.ch/).
Grab the MediaPlayerClassic addon pack from the same page as well. Then you can have All videos (including Quicktime and RealMedia) playing in the same player.
