Big Brother 7 (2007) Chat

Postby tpg » Tue Apr 17, 2007 1:07 pm

Hey everyone. Let me be the first to welcome you all back for another year of fun and frivolity (what ever the hell that means lol) with Big Brother 7. So get your caps, clips, and gossip ready cause if previous years are anything to go by then we should be in for a good show no matter what.

As we speak the new housemates have already been chosen and are currently in lock down, (why the hell do I suddenly feel like Gretel Killeen right now, anyway) so lets hope there's a new Joanne Ashton, or Krystal Forscutt in this batch.

I was just was surfing around and came across this BB media release.

BIG Brother producers have given the first hint as to what fans can expect from the show's seventh season, starting with "more worldly" contestants in the human fishbowl.

The big daddy of reality TV returns next month with a new house built on its usual site at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast.

The show will be under its closest scrutiny to date after last year's "turkey slapping" incident saw calls from politicians, including Prime Minister John Howard, and lobby groups for the show to be banned and the risque Big Brother Uncut program pulled off the air mid-season.

But it's full steam ahead again say producers with, as there are every season, a number of twists designed to test the housemates' mettle and keep viewers tuning in.

Understandably, this season's executive producer Tim Toni was coy with details to avoid potential housemates getting a head start before they go into "lock down", a method of quarantine from the general public which has become part of the show's tension building process.

But at an informal lunch for journalists today, he revealed there would be significant rule changes introduced this year that would affect all aspects of the show.

The housemates have been selected, even if they may not yet be aware themselves, and will represent a wider array of age groups than previous years.

Fans can also expect a little more meaningful conversation, perhaps at the cost of some of the house's trademark tomfoolery, after Toni dubbed this year's housemates "more worldly" than those of previous series and able to discuss a wide range of topics in depth.
He added some housemates have been plucked from the fringes of elite sport.

Endemol Southern Star producer Kris Noble said the uproar from last year's controversy – namely the "turkey slapping" incident which saw Michael "Ashley" Cox and and Michael "John" Bric removed from the house after they performed a lewd act on Camilla Halliwell – has had little bearing on preparations for the new series.

"As far as we're concerned we handled that pretty well, the two guys did the wrong thing and they were kicked out," he said.

In saying that, the show is likely to toe the line this year with censorship still a hot topic on both sides of politics and new legislation that could affect the way such shows operate still being debated.

There will be no return of the Uncut program, which aired in a late timeslot to allow a certain degree of nudity and foul language and revealed the side of housemates that isn't suitable for the family hours.

This leaves primetime family timeslots for what will again be up to 20 hours of Big Brother-related television each week for three months on Network Ten.

Friday Night Live, in which the contestants play games for rewards, is a definite starter after its success last year for Ten and the Big Brother brand as a family-friendly alternative to Nine's rugby league coverage.

Not only is Big Brother likely to appease censors, it will also make peace with mother earth as the house itself has been fitted to be environmentally friendly with solar power panels, strict rules regarding water use and recycling procedures set to be part of the housemates' daily routine.

sounds interesting...

Well they just lost a viewer .... why would I want to watch a "family edited to G rating" view of the house? Might as well put on repeats of Hi-5

They could always show some "uncut" clips during the Up Late Show with Mike Goldman ...
Surely all the kiddies have gone to bed by then, and us adults can then enjoy all the "real" action ...

Yep, if I remember correctly didn't that happen last year as well, and the year before that - threats about not showing the racy stuff - but we still got treated to some Krystal/Gaelan action [hot tub, etc].

It seems every year they threaten not to show stuff but they do anyway. Personally I don't care what they call it or how they package it, as long as we still get to see some "action" then its all good.

I have a feeling they'll have something up their sleeves I'm sure - otherwise, why bother. The whole premise of the fcuking house is hooking up and social interaction, all that jazz. Ah, it'll be good - have faith.

Then again, I could live to eat my words...

In her strangest interview to date Gretel Killeen appeared on Rove Live this past Sunday, but didn’t actually reveal anything about Big Brother 7.

Instead she decided to string the audience along with stories she lived through during the show’s off-season, then questioned why donkeys have such big ears.

Unfortunately for the Big Brother publicity machine, nothing was said about the upcoming season because the new housemates were not yet in lockdown, even though the show begins in less than a week.

In previous years Gretel has always given some hints to the upcoming show, but this was not the case for BB07.

To top the interview off Gretel couldn’t recall what time slot her own show was airing in, and was surprised when Rove told the audience.

So in the end, who frickin knows...

Last year after Uncut was cancelled whenever there was any hint of posible nudity on uplate the camera quickly changed angle to avoid the good stuff from being shown, Krystel getting changed in front of the mirror come to mind!

They'll probably change it up so there's no money at the beginning, and they'll EARN money by performing tasks as the show goes on

I gotta say aesthetically, Aleisha gets my vote - followed closely by Sussanah, TJ, Emma, and Demet. It’ll be interesting to see the girls “in action” later tonight and see what they’re personalities are like.

I didn't notice it because of the small pics, but watching the launch show I've just realised I know Rebecca. Not friends or anything, just worked for the same company and had regular contact every couple of weeks.
Too bad she's a mormon and has already said she'll be covering everything up, 'cause I won't say I haven't been keen for a look

Good old 3 Mobile is off to a great start as always. It's 9.19pm, went to go have a look at the BB website, and sure enough:

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

The capacity of their webserver has been left lacklustre again this year ... just like their phone network

Lost another viewer. I always loved Uncut.
I reckon if Big Brother is gonna be a wussy program instead of being defiant. THEY SUCK!

MY PREDICTION: "This will truly be big brother's last year" cos they have shown they are wusses and lost loyal fans like me.

Have fun guys, I think I'll find some better things to do.

It does where I live... hehe.

WTF! Would you honestly want to watch the show if it had a bunch of fat, unemployed, chain smoking single mothers from Campbelltown, swearing their arses off about their dreary mundane lives, and daily bullshit... (actually, I gotta admit that sounds kind of entertaning) LOL.

But honestly, I LOVE and NEED to see a couple of attractive young babes get drunk, and "get to know each other" in the house. It's frickin brilliant how over the following few days (sometimes hours) they're real personalities come out (as drop dead goreous women are usually the most insecure) and friendships or enemies are made.

I mean like it or not you're getting to know these people (the girls), and I gotta tell ya, call me vain or what ever, but in this day and age of broadband porn, webcams, celeb sex tapes, etc, I have no time to listen to some fug sit there balling her eyes out, and making excuses to why she became a fatty.

If I want to see "the average joe" I'll go head over to one of the locals on the weekend and get pissed - otherwise, I want to be entertained with hot, young, fresh, punanni!!!!!!!

I say bring on the fake tits, bleeched hair, and gloss lipstick!!! (personally I prefer natural jugs, but I'm just making a point here!) lol
